सुर्य हा ऊर्जेचा मुख्य स्रोत आहे सौर ऊर्जा घेण्यासाठी घरात कुठल्याही प्रकारचे मीटर बसवावे लागत नाही  व कुठलेही बिल भरावे लागत  नाही.
मोठ्या प्रमाणात सुर्याची ऊर्जा उपलब्ध असून त्याची जाणीव ग्रामीण भागातील
लोकांना नाही. उलट स्वयंपाक करण्यासाठी लोक निसगातील झाडांची तोड करून घरे भरून ठेवतात. प्रतिवर्षी असे करून पर्यावरणाचा ऱ्हास  तर दुसरीकडे वाढते प्रदूषण. परंतु यावर लोक फारसा विचार करत नाहीत म्हणून जर सर्वच लोकांनी सुर्यापासून मोफत मिळणाऱ्या ऊर्जेचा वापर करून दैनंदिन जीवन जगण्याची शपथ  घेतली तर कालानुरूप लोकांमध्ये  बदल घडण्यास वेळ लागणार नाही.सौर कुकर व सौर बंब,सौर दिवे याचा जर लोकांनी वापर करावयास सुरवात केली तर आपल्या निसर्गात असलेले पर्यावरण धोक्यात येणार नाही व प्रदूषणाला देखील आळा बसेन व संपूर्ण मानवी जीवन सुखमय होऊन जाईल यासाठी मानव जातीचे पाऊल आपोआप  उचले जाईल.

ऊर्जेची साठवण करून रात्रीच्या वेळी तो उपयोगात आणु शकतो .
यासाठी खर्च सुद्धा अल्प प्रमाणात येतो. विदुत ऊर्जा जेव्हा अतिशय महत्वाची असते. त्या दिवशी मिळत नाही. परंतु सुर्य पासून मिळणारी ऊर्जा आपला दिवस
व वेळ बदलत नाही. मानून बदलत्या काळानुसार आपण जास्तीत जास्त प्रमाणात सौर ऊर्जेचा वापर केला पाहिजे .सौर उर्जेवर चालणाऱ्या उपकरणाचा वापर करण्यास शिकले पाहिजे

SUN is the main source of energy and for using it we don’t have to setup a electric meter or pay any bills. Energy from sun is available in abundance but many people don’t know how to use it in their daily life because of lack of awareness. Even today just for cooking many people in villages and remote areas without thinking excessively cut trees and stuff their house with wood. This act creates environmental imbalance and results in increase in pollution and floods. When sunlight hits the solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, electricity (or 'solar energy') is produced.

The electricity then runs from the solar panels through an inverter.

The inverter turns the power from direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC), which you can then use for electronic appliances in your home.

If the appliances in your home are turned on while solar power is being produced, the power runs through the switch board and the solar power is sent to your appliances.

Any appliances that are AC powered can use the solar power, including lights, dish washer and electric hot water cylinders.

Electric Vehicles (EV's) can charge up using the solar power.

If electrical appliances are switched off, or if excess solar power is being produced, the power gets sent to the grid which is measured by the meter box. Your electricity retailer applies credits in exchange for the energy you produce. During the night, when your solar power system is not producing energy, you will draw power from the grid, which you can pay far with credits earned from exporting solar power during the day.

SOLAR WATER HEATER

Solar water healing (SWH) is the conversion of sunlight into heat for water heating using a solar thermal collector. A variety of configurations are available at varying cast to provide solutions in different climates and latitudes, SWHs are widely used for residential and some industrial applications.

A sun-facing collector heats a working fluid that passes into a storage system for later use. SWH are active (pumped) and passive (convection-driven). They use water only, or both water and a working fluid. They are heated directly or via light-concentrating mirrors. They operate independently or as hybrids with electric or gas heaters. In large-scale installations, mirrors may concentrate sunlight onto a smaller collector.

The global solar thermal market is dominated by China, Europe, Japan and India, although Israel was one of the first countries to mandate installation of SWH in 1980, leading to a flourishing industry.
